Interbike Blur

A lot of time went by, a lot of things happened. A lot of good and one bad, but maybe the bad was for good.
Slime Booth Interbike
During my trip back east I was in contact with Slime one of my sponsors and they offered me the oppuntunity to go to Interbike and work the booth a bit. So thats what I did. Home for 2 days and then on the road to Vegas.
After a marathon drive I hit the outside dirt demo where I got to ride an assortment of bicycles and start saying the hello's and greetings to all you know and the new ones you meet. Its a great way to ease into the business that takes place in the expo center in the days to follow.

My first day at the expo center was to be at the Slime booth all day and talk about the new Pro Series tubless tire sealant. Me and a handful of others have beeen using this new product for about 5 months now. We have been using it in all different scenarios, UST and standard rim/tire combinations with great success. I got to talk about all the postive things that maybe other sealants don't offer. Such as its non hazardous/corrosive properities therefore not damaging any metal in any way. How it is still liquid over time without any drying out in comparison to others. The small fibers that have been added to help promote clotting. The no nuetral smell.
My biggest testomonial is when I was racing the ADK 540 and my support was a long ways away and my front tubular road tire recieved a punture. While it was pressured to 160psi I watched the sealant rapidly shoot out but as the pressure dropped to about 100psi it sealed and allowed me to ride the next hour to catch my crew. They aired the tire back to 140psi and its been fine since. This was no pin whole either.
Slime tubular fix

Went to Cross Vegas to watch the Pro men/women mix it up under the lights. Cross racing is very fast and exciting espically in Vegas. All the big guns were out riding there colors, even Lance in yellow on a cross bike.

Now for the not so good. While cruising Vegas on a BMX bike I turned to sharp went over the bars and impacted my shoulder. No scrapes, no bruises, but one hell of a sore shoulder. The following morning I head out to the show arrive at the Slime booth for a bit, discuss my shoulder and they quickly convinced me to go for some x-rays. Sure enough it was confirmed I broke my collar bone in half. Since then things have been a blur, just sort of dealing. Leaning toward no surgery but will find out more today.

With the remainder of my time I concentrated on saying hello and meeting up with my current partners and a couple of future possibilities.

As an endurance racer, in a race situation I try to turn the not so ideal situations into ways that will benefit me no matter the circumstance. I will be looking to capitalize on my next 6 weeks in a different way since working my regular construction job is out of the question.
For now I know I have time to share some more consecutive blog entries.
