Supporting the trails with a $25 sticker.

Wow, it was fast and firm! 2 hours 37 minutes to do the 25 miles which included 2800 vert. Not to shabby. Doing this route several times before never faster then 5 hours sort of makes me feel like I cheated myself by not staying out there longer or just doing it again.

Once again a handful of us met up at Togwotee Lodge to ride/race the loop. It was a gorgeous sun filled day spent with like minded friends doing what more people should be, enjoying our snow packed trails on fat wheeled bikes.

I followed Dave for a few minutes and then decided it is a race and there is only one way to get in race like training, and that is race it. So, gased er' up and peddeled strong the entire time passing Dave and just trying to push myself against the clock (there is a record time with every race and why not shoot for it). Mocking out the super fun downhills and pedaling strongly through each climb. On one of the first downhills at the bottom there was a soft soggy spot which I thought was frozen and I could clear going 20+ mph but instead the front wheel broke through and I ejected. Ouch! A quick evaluation on myself moving all body parts let me know I was OK except for the now wet gloves, jacket, and sore ribs (sore today as well, 3 days later). I fully enjoyed my ride, felt really good, and yes shaved a few minutes off last years record time.

This was one of the most spectacular days of riding in this area that I have experinced!

There is another race in the Togwotee Classic series that people should consider on March 6th. It's a great way to experince our trails and see what they are all about. Sooner or later people will get it, we have incredible snow riding in our Teton area!!
