"Endurance Drywall" has taken up sometime these past couple weeks. Been in the "get'er done" zone, working many hours and even through the weekends but as they say, got to make hay while the sun shines.
I actually don't mind pushing through jobs like this sometimes, of course it benefits the pocket but I feel it is a type of training. Long hours on your feet, running around throwing 100lb sheets of sheetrock around, and then slinging mud all day long like in an "over distance" workout zone.
To say all I have been doing is working would be a lie. Yep, still keeping on the bike, little bit of skating, getting the dogs out snowshoing, did an overnighter, fidgeting/dialing gear for the race and getting some freshies, one of my favorite's!
Speaking of freshies...I just want to plug RBH Designs for these freshies.
This is the Hi-Rise sock. I got a pair 3 years and well over 2 thousand mile ago. The heel finally wore a hole through, but I will blame that on the close to 500 miles of pushing.
If your not familiar with vapor barrier clothing, I suggest looking into it. It has been my savyor for cold weather riding and espically extremely cold temps. Traps heat and prevents layers from gettting wet. Pretty simple and logical.
It is recomended to wear vapor barrier clothing next to skin but you can do what works for you. I wear a thin linear sock then my barrier. T-race wears an old school rag wool sock then her non-insulated barrier since her foot does'nt sweat as much.
I have also found great benefit in theV NTS Vest which keeps my core warm and again the layers dry. I also wear a thin base layer under it. The warm enviroment it creates close to my body is also where I store all the things I don't want to freeze, including my water bladder hose!
Besides this family run business making some fine gear they pay attention to there customers and there pusuits. They care!! So give them a try, it will change the way you dress for all your winter activities.
As RBH Designs says "Warm Regards".

That's awesome, I have some sheetrock to mud when you get to Nome. I'll exchange room/board when you get here? I really suck at mudding/taping and even biking...JayP said on February 3, 2010 at 7:29 AM
Phil, I bet your the best biker in Nome. Are'nt you the only biker? Thanks, that made me laugh! I'll throw my tools in my frame bag :).Dave said on February 3, 2010 at 10:11 AM
Glad to see you have a new pair of socks for AK. You should frame the old ones and hang them in the workshop.yuegao said on February 7, 2010 at 7:58 PM
