It is all setteling in and coming together. Yep, we have been on the fence about making the full trek to Nome, but as of today T-race just got the word from work that it's a go! So we will be racing to McGrath on our own and then Tracey will be waiting for me in McGrath to join her as we make the adventure to Nome. Wow, did I just write that. You always want to keep an eye on the competition...
it's sometimes good to let them take the lead...
Needless to say with the departure date just 2 weeks and 2 days away there is a lot of stuff to follow through with, arrange, and get in order before we commit to the ~ 3 weeks we will be in AK.
Boxes are being delivered daily with bits of gear that I am replacing, adding, or testing to see if they make the cut.People got to bust my chops...
Drop bags for us lower 48er's will need to be sent a week today, since Monday is a holiday, and they have to be there on the 20th. Which means this weekend we will be putting 3 drop bags together that get air dropped on certain portions of the route. This does'nt include the 10 mail drops each we will have to put together and send out when we arrive in AK, to bad we are there only 2 days ahead of time...at least we will have something to do before the start. The start of the drop food.
Still riding consistantly with some new trails to check off as well.A frosty Salsa morning!
Got through the push of work and am now at a more steady flow, have just enough to finish up before we head out so at least I won't be stressing that way and even come home to some work. Did I tell you all I will be working the shop for the summer as well, Fitzgerlads Bicylces that is, heading to fit school and will be rovering around with other shop duties too. Looking forward to working in the bicycle bizz, I will be learning a lot, be around my passion, and it might possibly open up some more doors.
Anyway, a lot going in circles in this brain right now.
I have a few very pleasing products I will post in the next couple days after a few more uses...

Best of luck in AK! I'll be looking forward to following your progress. I'm a white saddle person and noticed you had one on your bike. WTB? If so, which one? I really want one for my new Pugs.T-Race said on February 13, 2010 at 7:13 AM

COOL!! JayP and T-Race on the Love Shack from McGrath to Nome!! ;-) Good luck, guys. I can't even imagine the amount of prep work to get this adventure on track, much less the challenges of the race itself.Bob said on February 14, 2010 at 7:44 PM
